Description: Awesome piece - The Leader of the Raid on Tokyo Japan during WWII. Nice Signature. A label was added to the signature page that states - "Autographed by Gen. James H. Doolittle on Aug. 7, 1980 at Wittman Field, Oshkosh, Wis.". Book is by Carroll V. Gaines and is titled JIMMY DOLITTLE Daredevil, Aviator, and Scientist. 1972. It includes the dust jacket. The dust jacket is overall good, but has some normal edge wear and about a 1" tear at the top right. Also, there is some clear tape at the bottom spine with a red sticker placed on the tape. The book itself is in good condition with one page that shows some yellow fading where a piece of paper had been stuck to it. The piece of paper will be included (you can keep it with the book or leave it out). It is from The MacMillan (publishing) Company and has the publish date of the book and a note that states they are sending the book for review. Mr Ed D. Williams, the book owner, was a writer for the Milwaukee Journal and I am sure that is how he acquired it. I have some other pilot autographed books as well. Some of them he had interviewed. I believe he was a pilot as well as his estate had several pilot related handbooks and aviation related items. I will be listing signed books by Eddie Rickenbacker, Joseph Doerflinger, and Hanna Reitsch, as well, if you are interested. Scarcer autograph to find and will only get tougher in the future.
