Description: SUPERB JEAN POUYAT JP LIMOGES SCALLOPED RELISH DISH ~ RARE OCEAN WAVE SHAPE According to Distinctive Limoges Porcelain by Keith and Thomas Waterbrook-Clyde, the boat shaped bowl and wave shaped ends are intended to remind one of the ocean. This particular shape was created around 1891 and this dish has the JP Limoges white ware mark that was in use from then until 1932. The form was produced in pure white and in at least two patterns, including this one. Size: The dish is 10 inches long, 4 inches wide and about 2 3/4 inches high at each end. Condition: It's in very nice condition. No chips or cracks noted. There is some gold wear present.
