Description: Jasper Johns (after) "Map" giclee. Large 6' T x 10' T acrylic giclee. It represents the overall proportions and shapes of the USA and parts of Mexico and Canada. The names of the states,and oceans are stamped. Outlines of states are recognizable, but some believe that the blurring of state borders suggests blurring of American culture. Already in custom made crate and ready for shipping via freight. Beautiful reproduction of Johns' work (1961). Abstract and colorful. The Original is in the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York City. I Please note this item was acquired from an anonymous donor to MacMurray College Jacksonville, IL prior to its' closure and sale of contents from all buildings. The tag on the shipping crate as noted above is where it was shipped from however, I have been unable to trace the donor. Great piece that stands by itself in a Mid-Centrury or Modern home.
