Description: For Auction, from my personal collection, is a Japanese WWII Manchukuo Foundation Merit Medal. Circular black-lacquered bronze medal with laterally pierced spherical ring suspension; the face inscribed in silvered characters ‘chien-kuo’ (National Foundation) within a wreath of sorghum stalks with silvered heads. The silver is quite bold (see Images). The reverse inscribed in characters ‘Great Manchukuo National Foundation Merit Medal, Ta Tung 1st Year’; on original ribbon complete with hook and eye. The medal was instituted on 1 March 1933 to acknowledge those who had been instrumental in establishing the new ‘independent’ Great Manchu State. In 1934 it became the ‘Great Manchu Empire’ and this medal was thus the first and last decoration of the Japanese puppet Independent State of Manchukuo. Comes with the Inscribed Black lacquered box. The inscription on the box is the same as the Kunji inscribed on the Left side of the medals reverse. This medal is now quite rare.If there are other Japanese WWII Medlas or Badges you are looking for let me know through Ebay and I will put them up for Auction. I will be adding more in the future.
