Description: Japanese Mashiko Pottery Tea Set In Japan, Mashiko is famous as a "pottery town", visited by people from around the world seeking its reknown pottery ware (Mashiko-yaki). There are over 300 potters working in 250 workshops and stores. In 1979, Mashiko ware was designated as a National Traditional Craft. This tea set contains one teapot with 5 tea cups. The set is "brownish" in color with an abstract floral design on the cups. The set was purchased by seller in Mashiko in the mid-1970s. It has been stored in the original box since then and never used. Now is the time to finally find a new home for it. Please review the photos which will provide a better appreciation of this tea set than any written description. The 16 oz. teapot measures 4" high with a 3" diameter top. The 8 oz. cups measure 3 1/4" tall with a 3 3/8" diameter top.
