The front of the poster reproduces one of his important and increasingly highly regarded alphabet paintings purchased by the Museum of Modern Art, NY at the time and in the Museum's permanent collection. The reverse side of the poster subverts the usual role of a poster to reveal vital information clearly, by sinking this information amidst a cacophony of typographical elements which threaten to render this information unreadable. Given the fact that examples of his alphabet works from this early period are selling for 2m+ this poster can also be considered an early work by Kounellis and therefore a perfect surrogate for one of these important alphabet paintings.
