Description: Jane eyre by Currer Bell (Charlotte Bronte) Very early edition published in 1857, 10 years after the first edition, by Smith, Elder and Co., London Condition: 467 pp with 4 pgs adverts at rear, book is very good, bound in half calf with marbled boards, 5 raised bands to spine with gilt titles and floral design. Usual mild to moderate foxing throughout. Scattered small soil marks and handling marks. Pages are quite toned as are the 3 sides of textblock. Boards show mild shelfwear, gilt titling to spine very good. Inscription to ffep and original owner inscription neat at top of title page. One page with small tear at bottom as shown in photos, a few creased pages, legible and rare.
