Description: Original stone lithograph, not an offset print, 23 3/4" by 26 3/4" inside the mat (not examined out of frame), signed in the plate by the artist Jan TOOROP and dated in the plate 1915. Executed primarily in black, note the color----pale orange in the cap and shirt, blue in the trousers. Toorop is a major Dutch artist, one of whose works (painting) exceeded $700,000 at auction. His prints and posters are much more affordable. I do not see that this example is pencil signed. CONDITION: Note that there are a number of white areas, which are paper losses from past careless handling. They are scattered: two at bottom, one in the shirt, some near the right hand, and a few others. If you are looking for a perfect print, pass this one by, but if you like the strong, vigorous image, which overshadows these minor flaws, then by all means consider the work. See the net for much more on the artist. Allow for reflections in the glass.
