Description: JABO West Virginia Marble Collectors Club (WVMCC) Marble Gold Lutz Lavender RainbowMint Run Date: 4/12/11 This nice example of the JABO WVMCC marble run has the gold lutz chunks that adds that little bit extra pizzazz and pop to a marble. This is usually accomplished by someone (perhaps even Dave himself) standing over the molten glass stream of glass and physically adding gold lutz chips into the molten stream of glass flowing out of the kiln. The color and sparkling effect of the gold chunks on the marble surface is quite nice. The really cool colors on this WVMCC marble are a rainbow band of lavender, pink, baby blue and oxblood. The bright lemon base glass gives a fantastically vivid foundation for the lavender rainbow of pastel colors. This is definitely a keeper for the vault. The tradition of West Virginia as the marble capital of America is steeped in rich history. I'm from West Coast, so I am not speaking from first hand experience, but growing up in this West Virginia area must have been so cool. If you like collectable keeper pastel pinky marbles, then this one is for you. That curly-cue rainbow swirl is actually quite unique and that it just the type of thing that JABO collectors gravitate toward. I try my best to take high resolution pictures with flash to show exactly what you are getting as well as to rotate the marble to give multiple views. I use a Canon Rebel DSLR camera with flash so that all the fine details are visible. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the size of this particular marble is 0.725".
