Description: If you have an old Lionel J-36, either with or without paddle or knob, this listing may be for you. Each paddle and knob combination is hand made and different from every other one I list. This particular paddle and knob is made from cherry and is intended to fit a WW II era Lionel J-36, with its distinctive paddle. The knob is made up of laminations of wood glued together and a brass insert holds the screw. The paddle edges are left as-cut by the laser. I think the contrast between dark and light looks nice, you may feel differently and it would not be hard to lightly sand the edges. The parts are finished with Tru-Oil. The holes are 7/16 inch apart. The larger hole is sized to pass an 8-32 screw, while the smaller hole passes a 6-32 screw. I have included some photos of a J-36 that came with the incorrect paddle. The key is not included in the sale, of course. The last photo shows a knob being finished on a lathe. Email me if you have any questions and thanks for looking!
