Ives 3243 Prewar Standard Gauge Electric Locomotive

Description: I am selling a very large estate collection of vintage trains. Unless otherwise specified, nothing has been tested for operation. I simply don't have the time to go through and test and service all these trains. These are vintage items sold as restoration projects, parts, or display items for the knowledgeable adult hobbyist. Beautiful large Ives Standard Gauge Prewar 3243 electric locomotive from the 1920's. Please note the following: 1. Orange body was restored and re-lettered years ago. Has aged nicely where it has that original look to it, not fake looking too glossy look like many restorations. Rest of loco is original. 2. Loco ran when I tested it on a friend's straight test track. The hand reverse contacts are finicky. Ran well in 1 direction, but slow in other when you turn the hand reverse lever. Could possibly clean, adjust reverse switch contacts, etc., or just be content to leave it alone and run in 1 direction. Motor sounded a bit "dry". Has been displayed on a shelf for 40 plus years, so should be cleaned/lubed/serviced. 3. One axle on front set of pony wheels appears to be a bit bent, and should be straightened if you are going to run much. 4. Because of the above items, officially selling as a project for the experienced, knowledgeable adult hobbyist, NOT as a generic toy train to just be played with by a beginner. This is nearly 100 years old, and is primarily a collector's display item. Like any 90 plus year old used toy, there are some small nicks, scratches, and cosmetic defects. Still makes a nice appearance, no beat up or play worn looking. This is large, heavy, fragile, and valuable. I don't want to ship this back and forth, so be sure of what you are buying and ask questions ahead of hand if not sure. Please look at ALL pictures! They are the description!
