Description: This interesting, sexy collar came to me in unwearable condition: it had two long, tubular links connecting the frontpiece to the back, but one of these links was squashed. The frontpiece was in good condition except for surface scratches and fading gold wash over the ball and ridgy details. I therefore asked my boss, a goldsmith, to polish off the scratches and the remaining gold wash, then I removed the crapped-out tube links and replace them with strands of alternating 6mm amethyst and black labradorite beads, ending with a nice sterling silver lobster. The collar is signed by M. Vismonski, about whom I know nothing except she or he is (or was) Israeli and worked with electroform. Several other M. Vismonski (sometimes spelled Vismonsky) pieces I found on-line were collars, similar to this one. The interior circumference of this necklace is just over 16". The distance between the collar's endpoints is 5 inches. The necklace weighs 22 grams, but I forgot to weigh the collar before I added the beads, so I don't know what weighs what. Everything except the collar piece is new and the collar is in nice shape because it's been thoroughly polished. As for the date, other listings say 1980s or 1990s. Sounds good to me...
