Description: Quarter-plate ambrotype, woman in mourning dress and veil holding a little girl. The pose is a very "post mortem" one.. right down to the girl's crossed feet.. and her eyes might be closed.. having said that, I personally do not believe it is a post mortem photo, but others who have seen it believe it is... it's for the buyer to decide! "McDonell" is impressed on the velvet pad... a daguerreotype and ambrotype studio in Buffalo, New York. Housed in a full leather case, which is in very good condition, with taped spine. The ambrotype itself is in excellent condition. My photos were taken with my cell phone, using flash, which basically simulates how this appears under good daylight viewing conditions.Boxed Priority Mail. 3452
