Description: This is a wonderful full-page color plate by Edwin Deming (a famous wildlife and Western artist from a rare) from a quality book that was published in 1899. It has a wonderful primative or folk style to it. It has exquisite pastel tones. It depicts two Native American Indian toddler boys on a clanket, talking and gestering to two red-headed woodpeckers. They sit on a colorful blanket. Mom is in the background by the teepee with a pinto horse. I believe this to be a Blackfoot Indian camp. If you think I have ID'd the tribe wrong, please let me know. THERE IS A TEAR IN THE LOWER MARGIN, BUT IT DOES NOT CROSS INTO THE PICTURE. The print has a blank back, meaning it was printed separately from the text for better quality and then sewn into the book when it was bound. It would look wonderful framed. Note that the page size is approx. 8 x 11 inches and the actual image size (without margins) is approx. 6.25 X 9 inches. This is NOT a recent copy or modern reproduction, but a GENUINE item garuanteed to be over 100 years old. All prints are delivered in an archival sleeve.
