Online databases are great if you know the approximate spelling of the names you are seeking. If you don't know how the enumerator spelled the name, the printed form allows you a easy way to check all names at a glance. Last week I was searching the online IL marriage database for the marriage of the sister of great great grandfather. Her maiden was a Doolin and she married a Gensler. I tried the normal searches for Doolin - Dool*, Dul* and searched for the spouse by Gen* and came up empty. I then checked the printed records for the county in which I suspected the marriage to be in and found them listed as Doonline and Kensler. I doubt if I ever would have found them in the online database. Peoria county is surrounded by Stark, Marshall, Woodford, Tazewell, Fulton & Knox counties. The county seat is Peoria.
