Imperial German,WW 1,Minty Pre-War Airship or Pioneer Officer’s Visor Cap

Description: Imperial German, Great War, Minty Airship ( technical branch ) or Pioneer ( Combat Engineer ) Officer’s Visor Cap. Technical branch included Airship, Pioneer, Telegraph and several other unit troops. It features a wide black trim band measuring 1.5” and a single narrow red piping band encircling the top. Both correct Reich & State Cockades are present. This is a very high quality visor cap in minty condition. It is near impossible to find a Visor Cap without some moth tracking, this cap has no detectable tracks but the tip of the visor has some slight wear showings( see photo’s ). Imperial Germany was a federation of twenty-seven kingdoms, duchies, principalities and "free and imperial cities". By far the largest of these components was Prussia, whose King also bore the title of German emperor. I have several technical service Officers Caps listed separately that have been in my collection for some time. There is one that is minty with some slight moth tracking and a couple of Pre-1897 Caps listed as Pioneer Officers Caps as there was no Aircraft and little to no Telegraph Troops then.
