Description: Illinois Grade 179 Illinois Watch Co. 16 size 21 jewel hunting case lever-set Grade 179 pocket watch movement/dial/hands. Movement and dial are private label signed for retailer Rowe Bros. of Chicago, Illinois. Movement is a top grade Getty model and features gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, gold train wheels, and a beautiful 2-tone gold and nickel damaskeen finish. Total production of the open face Grade 179 was only about 600 made, and examples with beautifully preserved 2-tone movements such as this are quite hard to find. Dial is double-sunk enamel with Gothic hour numerals. Serial number is 1330129. Running and a beautiful movement with superb 2-tone color and just some typcial mild surface marks. Dial faces up well though has a small chip above the 5 o'clock numeral, a light outer chapter hairline at 23.5 minutes, a very small edge flake at 57 minutes, and some scattered colorless fine glaze scratches.
