A vintage flat sterling silver Maltese cross charm pendant. It is engraved IHN on the front and 1888 on the back and stamped SEAL at the very top. Originally open only to women, The International Order of the King's Daughters accepted men in 1887 (and added "and Sons") and was incorporated in 1888. Leaders of the organization adopted a small, silver Maltese cross as the badge to be worn by members, and chose the words "In His Name" as the phrase members would use as their "watchword." * * * * * Photographs show a coin & ruler for scale purposes.
