Description: This listing features a fantastic vase marked IE & C Co. The bottom of the piece is mark with a green wreath with IE & C Co. with the I and E or either side of a central small diamond, the C being in the diamond and the Co. below the diamond. "JAPAN" is above the logo mark inside the wreath. "Hand" is above the wreath and "Painted" is below the wreath. Items from this company were made between 1885 to 1925. Most of the pieces were Art Nouveau in style. The beading and artwork on this vase is beautiful. IE & C is an early, elusive Nippon era company that is a rare find. The painted oval features a sailboat with purple and orange skies. The gold flower and petal detailing below and above the oval is exquisite. There are no chips or cracks. There is a some discoloration inside the very bottom of the vase along the inside bottom edge as shown in the last picture. The bottom green portion is a darker green in some areas as shown in several of the pictures. It is not easy to see due to the shadows. It measures about 9.5" in height.
