Description: Rare original antique engraving print from an 1860s illustrated journal. This picture deptics a waterfall in Iceland near Skogar in the south. Presumably the waterfall that now goes by the name Skogafoss. Skógafoss a waterfall situated on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline. After the coastline had receded seaward (it is now at a distance of about 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) from Skógar), the former sea cliffs remained, parallel to the coast over hundreds of kilometres, creating together with some mountains a clear border between the coastal lowlands and the Highlands of Iceland. The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 10.5 inches (28 x 25 cm). The picture fills most of it, measuring about 6.75 x 9 inches, with a caption below it.
