Description: IAN FLEMING - DOCTOR NO (published in the U.K. as "Dr. No), published by MacMillan, copyright 1958, First Printing (states "First Printing" on copyright page with no references to subsequent printings - there was never a 2nd printing in this format), white endpapers with black cloth boards and red lettering on spine and front board, $3.50 price on DJ front flap. Book has flat white pages with sharp outer page corners, no creased page corners, no foxing to pages, endpapers or outer page edges, slight age darkening/dust soiling to outer page edges, endpapers are clean and free from any tape residue or erasures, former owner's name on endpapers, no used bookseller stamps/stickers inside, no wear to board edges or corners or to spine tips, no bumped board corners, no discoloration/soiling to boards, no spine sun fading. Dust jacket has sliver losses at spine tips and at top/bottom on front panel, short closed tear with related crease at bottom on rear flap crease otherwise no chipping, tearing or creasing, slight wear to spine tips & to front flap crease crease & to left/right on spine, very slight spine sun fading (publisher's name still retains red color), no soiling or age spots to panels, no dust soiling to white area on rear panel (common with this DJ), almost no color wear to panels or spine, slight edge wear. Overall a N-FINE book in VG/VG+ condition dust jacket (not price clipped) of an Ian Fleming U.S. 1st printing hardcover book. While the last 4 Ian Fleming James Bond books are very common in the U.S. trade printing state, all of the U.S. Fleming books before On Her Majesty's Secret Service are quite scarce as the U.S. print runs were very very small (in comparison to the U.K. print runs) as the "bond mania" craze had not really hit the U.S. until after the release of Dr. No in the movie theaters in late 1962. NOTE - MEDIA MAIL ROUTINELY TAKES 3-4 WEEKS (REGARDLESS OF WHAT EBAY MAY SAY - THEY DON'T CONTROL THE POST OFFICE). Therefore, in most cases, the first time that the Post Office will show anything when you check the delivery confirmation number is when the package hits your local post office/sorting center (basically the day before its delivered to you). Occasionally (about 25% of the time) a package will get scanned at the Federal Way, WA transfer station, but in the vast majority of the cases the delivery confirmation won't show anything until basically the day before you get the package.
