Description: ACETATE "I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas" Acetate by "Yogi Yorgesson" 78 rpm | 1949 | Amazin & Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy by Eddie Miller | Acetate - 2 Sided 78 rpm | 1950 I purchased a box of records at auction. A 78 set sleeve for Frankie Carle was part of the collection but there weren't any records by Frankie, but there were 5 Acetate recordings. This listing is for one of the five. This one record has: "I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas" by "Yogi Yorgesson" on one side and Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy by Eddie Miller on the other side. A RECORDIO DISC, made by the WILCOX-GAY, captured these home recordings. Based on my research of these songs and arttists, it would seem reasonable to believe that they were recorded somewhere between 1949 and 1950. A little history: "I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas" is a 1949, Christmas novelty song and monologue written and performed by Harry Stewart as fictional Swede "Yogi Yorgesson". Stewart was backed by the Johnny Duffy Trio on the song. In 1949 Capitol Records released "I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas" and "Yingle Bells," a single by Yogi Yorgesson with the Johnny Duffy Trio. This record was the most popular of Stewart's career, selling over one million copies and earning a Gold Disc. The two songs have for many years been holiday favorites on the Dr. Demento show. More than a half century after his death, Stewart's recordings are still sold by vintage music stores and online retailers. They can also be found at video-sharing websites and other digital archives, and "I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas" remains in regular rotation. 2. "Chattanoogie Shoe Shine Boy" (also known as "Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy") was written by Harry Stone and Jack Stapp and published in 1950. It is the signature song of Red Foley who recorded it in late 1949. The song has been covered by many artists, including Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Faron Young who scored a hit with the song in 1959. Things that I couldn't find: 1) Searching on Bumble Boogie doesn't return anything that makes sense for this time period. 2). I couldn't find any record of Eddie Miller having recorded this song, but he recorded many more songs than are chronicled. I have a combo 16/33/45/78 record player that I audition this acetate on. The 78 setting played well enough to confirm that these are the songs on the record label. Considering that this acetate is over 70 years old, it is in fair to pretty good condition. There are scratches and wear. The label is in excellent condition. PHOTO NOTE: Photos 3 and 4 are over-exposed so as to show the grooves and wear. Please Read: · Please review the photos carefully!
