Description: Hyperkin Retron 5 Dead/No Power Repair Service Please read very carefully before purchasing! This is a mail-in repair service for the Hyperkin Retron 5. Repair Service Details Dead or No power is a very common issue with Retron 5's and I'm offering a service to repair them. Do you plug in your Retron 5 and hit the power button and the power light doesn't turn on? Does the system light up like it powers on, but there is no video output? This is the repair service for you! Currently the chances of fixing them are in our favor, but there are some instances when they are non-repairable. This is mostly due to the fact that a lot of the components are no longer in production and don't have access to board diagrams or schematics. If you've used the incorrect power AC adapter e.g. more than 5 volts, I can attempt to repair it. The odds of repair are 50/50. How It Works Please message me before purchasing! Only once the repair service is approved, purchased and paid in full, I will send you a eBay message confirming the issue with the Retron 5. After approval, buyer will pay for shipping to me & mail it to: GamingNStuff PO Box 487 Donora, PA 15033-0487 Package the Retron 5 very well with bubble wrap and a sturdy box to protect it during transit. Please mail in the power adapter so I can make sure that's not the problem for no power. If I've determined the console is working and the power adapter is bad, buyer will be refunded minus $15 for shipping it back to the customer. Please include the following in the package on a piece of paper: Your eBay username, the order number & symptoms. When you mail the Retron 5 to me for repair, please send me an eBay message with the tracking number, missing parts (port dust covers or rubber feet) or damage/wear and tear before you ship it. If the item is damaged on it's way to us, that is a claim the buyer will need to initiate. Please only mail the Retron 5 console and the power supply you used. You do not need to ship the controller or any cords/accessories. Once the package is received, I will message you to let you know that I've received it. I will diagnose it and perform the repair attempt within 1 business day of receiving it. I will ship it back to you at our own expense if it's successfully repaired via USPS Priority Mail. You must make sure your eBay mailing address is updated and accurate. This is where we will mail it back and there will be no exceptions.Dead CPUIf I discover that your Retron 5 has a dead CPU, you can have us attempt to replace the CPU. There is no additional cost involved and is included in the purchase price. This is a last resort repair attempt before calling it a no fix. The CPU will not be replaced unless all signs point to a dead CPU and you give us permission to perform the repair attempt. There are instances when replacing the CPU may not fix the Retron 5. This is the risk you agree to if you tell us to move forward. No Fix Process If I find that I'm unable to repair the Retron 5, I will private message you in eBay and let you know as soon as possible. I can mail it back to you at your own expense. There will be a $15 shipping cost that will be deducted from your refund to mail the Retron 5 back to you.I can accept the Retron 5 as a donation and at that point you would receive a full refund. Repair Service Limited Warranty The following repair service is backed by a 60 day limited non-transferable warranty starting from the date I ship the console back to you repaired. Physical damage, evidence that you used the wrong power adapter, evidence of tampering with the warranty sticker or any symptoms other than Dead/No power are not covered by this warranty. The warranty only covers the Dead/No power repair service that was purchased. If your Retron 5 is under warranty and has the same dead/no power issue, please send me a eBay message with the symptoms as well as the eBay order number of the original repair service purchase.The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping the Retron 5 to me for warranty repair. After the repair, I will cover the cost of shipping it back to you. If your Retron 5 is under our warranty, you will need to include the power AC adapter in the box when you mail the Retron 5 in for warranty repair. If you send in your Retron 5 for warranty repair, this does not reset your warranty date and the original warranty period issued to you is kept.The Retron 5 will be marked with a small tamper evident sticker on the back of the console and will be associated with your original repair service purchase. Tampering of the sticker or if the sticker is missing will void your 60 day limited repair warranty. The warranty is non transferable.
