Description: Huge 2-3 GAL Light GREENISH Aqua DEMIJOHN Base Marked IPGCo - NICE TERRARIUM Jar This was an old cellar find in northern Missouri from years ago - its been in storage ever since it was found. Looks like a turn of the century piece to me, hand blown with a tooled top. No embossing except for I.P.G. Co. inside a large diamond symbol on the base, I think this is for the Illinois Pacific Glass Company. Note: this is the demijohn shown on the far left in the last group shot photo of three, the other 2 will be listed separate. Measures about 18 inches tall, 7-1/2 inches across the base, a little larger around the shoulder area. Condition is actually pretty good for this large and heavy of a piece of glass, no chips or large cracks but does have a couple inner glass stress annealing lines, one on the tapered tooled top about 1/2 inch in length, and one more on the lower neck/upper shoulder also about 1/2 inch in length, both have been stable for years so would not be really concerned about these but they are there, also pretty clean shiny glass both inside and outside with only minor cleanable inside dirt residue not stained. These large size demijohn bottles were mainly used for storing liquids such as wine, whiskey, vinegar, water, etc. Please see all photos provided for more details on condition and as always feel free to contact if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
