Description: Refurbished HP 42S RPN Scientific calculator with a case. Photos are of the actual calculator being sold. Everything works as it should and in good cosmetic condition. An ID etched into the back cover was filled, smoothed, and painted (photo 3). I covered the ID area with black electrical tape since I preferred that to showing the fill (photo 4). Bezel showed wear around the display in the sharply-curved areas so I painted that area (photos 1 &2). Manual not included; PDF manual available on the Internet. Batteries included to maintain memory which includes three programs for example and/or utility: (1) EDIST: calculates the great circle earth distance between any two locations on the earth given the coordinates of each point and calculates the angle to begin travel from coordinate 1 to coordinate 2 (see photo for the distance for lat1 30.4506°N, lon1 91.1544°W to lat2 15.1321°S, lon2 30.1156°E of 8594.4962 miles and an angle of 87.9937°CW from north), (2) HERON: calculates the area of any plane triangle from the lengths of the three sides, and (3) MPG: calculates auto mileage at fill-ups. Program listings included with instructions for using in case batteries disconnect during shipment.
