This is a member's copy in the quarter morocco binding (the ordinary copies were bound in full cloth). John Sparrow's copy, with his name printed in red in the list of Roxburghe Club members. Also with Sparrow's book label (designed by Reynolds Stone). Sparrow (1902-1992) was warden of All Souls College, Oxford and a bibliophile. A study (with facsimile and transcription) of the Pynson edition and fragments of the Goes edition of this poem, both unique and held in the Westminster Abbey Library.
