I am listing the condition as NEW because it comes in the original box, and has never used or hung This is a RETIRED spiritile that is hard to find! The quote on the sides: "Wherever you go, go with all your heart." - Confucius Release Date: June 2, 2010Retirement Date: July 17, 2012Collection: Summer 2010Dimensions: 8.5" x 5.5" x 2" These spiritiles are made by hand with USA-sourced copper, glass enamel, and a custom wood box frame out of his studio in Atlanta, GA. Please note that when the copper topped with glass enamel are removed from the kiln, it is then rolled over with a rolling pin to create an effect called crazing. These tiny cracks are seen on the glass enamel which increase the luminescence of the piece. Each piece is unique with crazing. Artist statement: I was sitting in Piedmont park on a cool afternoon, there was ZERO wind. This kid was RUNNING and RUNNING with this kite trying to get it to fly. After about 5 minutes, I thought, "This kid has way too much energy" ...10 more minutes pass and I think, "Poor kid just isn't grasping the concept of how a kite works"... another 15 pass, "GEEZ, I wish I had that kind of dedication to follow my dreams despite the obstacles!" ***IHAVE OTHER CURRENT & RETIRED SPIRITILES THAT I AM SELLING.
