Description: Presented today is this great Hopi Kachina doll, depicting Kahaila, the Hunter Kachina by the talented and respected Martin Dallas, of Moencopi. These Kachinas are imported from the Rio Grande, and appear late in the Mixed Dances. This is a most unusual work for Martin. It was begun MANY years ago, and then set aside, only half finished. Martin was working with an elderly uncle on this doll, but when his uncle passed away, he lost his passion for the project. But because i am always hounding him for new dolls (only because i love his work so much), he brought this one out and promised to finish it for me. The result is just beautiful, in a perfect Late Action Style. His late uncle taught him how to make the yarn ruff, almost a lost art now. Martin's work has an understated elegance. This lovely Kachina doll stands 13 and a half inches tall, and is quite striking. Buy with confidence, for as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, i will immediately return the full purchase price, including the return shipping. Here is a doll which is truly years in the making. Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and as always, Best Regards, Rich
