Front and back boards show effects from damp stain, some red dye bleeding from boards affecting a few page edges front of book. Binding is loose and separated at front endpapers. Fortunately the pages and illustrations are in very good condition,All pages are clean and intact. The book not only retains the four page "Representatives' Instructions How to Sell" still attached and in fine condition, but also eight final pages with a description and picture of prospective volume and pages for sales orders - all intact and in great condition. Notwithstanding this is an abridged sample of the completed book to be sold, there are many dozens of photos and maps. Another interesting detail is the fact that The Novelty Cutlery Company, Canton, OH is listed as the distributor of the book. Collectors of vintage knives know Novelty Cutlery well. Started by Augustus Vignos in 1879, it made quality whittling knives (and introduced "picture knives") for 70 years.
