Fully Hallmarked in London 1880 date letter E , made by an old London Silversmith who was a hip flask maker, Frederic Punel, London Hallmarks are stamped on the out side of the funnel,Read As,: Makers mark FP : Lion Passant : London Assay Office : Date Letter E : Duty Mark.All hallmarks are crisp, clear and readable, Date letter is an E, but a little rubbed, The quality of this Hip Flask funnel is excellent as you would expect from such an old London silversmith, good gauge of silver used in its construction, beautifully shaped and this Hip Flask funnel still retains a stunning coverage of gilt, just a few light / faded areas. NB : The hip flask and the whisky bottle are not included in the sale, just the Hip Flask Funnel. Condition Excellent Condition, No dents or nasty scratches, does have a few small/ micro marks ( very small ) and a some shaded areas of Gilt thinning, commensurate with age A Beautiful example of a Victorian Hip Flask funnel, Fully hallmarked and ready for going back to work.
