WHY IS A DOUBLE-PUNCHED CAM IMPORTANT?꞉ Many individuals purchase a cam lock never thinking about how to how the lock's (mounting) orientation affects the final position of the cam. The majority of cam locks can be installed either right-side up or upside down; however, the important question is, after installing the lock, what position is the cam in when the lock is locked? If a double-punched isn't utilized (allowing universal installation) you've got a 50/50 chance of having the cam end up in the correct position. Nobody wants to buy a cam lock only to discover that when the key is removed, the cam is in the wrong position. By employing a double-punched cam, the cam can be in the 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock or 9 o'clock position when the lock is locked.
