Description: HiFi Cassette Deck w/ Dolby chrome/metal tape - Mitsubishi DT-7 FULLY SERVICED! Released in the early 80's this high-quality beauty had some state-of-the-art features well ahead of it's time! This incredibly rare deck was our introduction to the impressive "DT" Line from Mitsubishi and has great reviews online as perfect choice for vintage stereo component audiophiles. It has an impressive build quality, with "Soft touch" controls that run the automated tape heads. It features dual oversized VU Meters, front panel Mic inputs, 3 Tape Selector positions, Normal, FeCr and Cr02, and the Chrome setting also offers a "Special" setting, perhaps an early Metal Bias? This deck also has a 3-digit meter, record timer, front panel Input Level controls, a Record Mute button, 1/4" Headphone jack and RCA input & output plugs on the back panel. This deck measures 16.75" x 14.75" x 6.5" tall and weighs 17 lbs.aCondition:This unit is in excellent condition with minor signs of use, and a nice, clean front panel. The only thing worth mentioning is the previous owner etched a security ID number in the left side of the lid and there is also some scuffing to the handle next to it and minor scuffs that can be seen in the pics. I'll leave it up to the lucky new owner whether or not they want give buffing it out a try. Please examine all the pictures thoroughly for actual condition.Service:On inspection, this deck had a frozen transport, indicating it needed service. The tech found the typical issue with some of these 80's decks, the original belts used by Mitsubishi had turned to goo. So the mechanism had to be thoroughly cleaned and new belts installed., As long as it was open the mech was lubricated and the the idler tire inspected and cleaned with Rubber Renue, as was the pinch-roller. VU Meter lights were checked. All the internal switches & pots were also cleaned to assure trouble-free operation for years to come!Testing:Once serviced, this deck ran smoothly, producing clear, steady audio with no hum or buzz! All controls and features work correctly, and the pots operate with noise-free clarity! I did record a short test track to both channels, using both the Line & Mic inputs, and played it back with no issues. I have already packaged very very well with appropriate closed foam inserts and heavy box etc and I will re-inspect prior to shipping to ensure safe arrival. During shipping, it is possible that the cassette door may vibrate out of alignment. This is easily remedied by examining the door and realigning it by hand, gently.
