Description: This is a gorgeous genuine HERMES silk designer print scarf. This Vintage scarf is in Good condition overall. There are some very faint whitish marks due to age and wear - in this fabulous scarf. Shown in close-up last pics. Has been dry-cleaned. "Châteaux d'Arrière" or "Sterncastles" by Hermès artist, Julia Abadie. During the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, the sterncastle (or aftcastle or aftdeck) is the stern (rear) structure behind the mizzenmast and above the transom on large sailing ships, such as carracks, caravels, galleons and galleasses. It usually houses the captain's cabin and perhaps additional cabins, and is crowned by the poop deck They were often lavishly decorated, and ornamented with gilded moldings, carved sirens, and other symbols of victory. This design was first issued by Hermès in 1974 and reissued in 1994 and in the 70cm size in 2012.
