Description: I'm offering a rare leather covered wooden jewelry box with extensive sterling silver embellishment REYNOLDS ANGELS as designed by Henry Matthews - very detailed Beautiful palest green silk inside with crimped edges The 5 sterling panels on the top with the intricate Reynolds Angels design and the panel surrounding the keyhole have a wonderful patina; note that I have not attempted to clean the silver at all and will leave that to the owner if they choose to All six panels have the same markings for Henry Matthew Birmingham with 1905 date stamp In very good vintage condition - none of the sterling panels are missing and the box itself remains square and closes firmly The lock mechanism is no longer functional and is missing the left prong on top and there is no key Typical scuffs to corners and wear to the leather on sides as shown in the photos The interior silk has faded (remember this item is 118 years old!) and has some foxing but the only tear or other damage is on an outer edge of the lid top which can be folded over; likely an easy repair Measures 8 5/8" across by 8" and 3" tall at sides It has obviously been lovingly cherished by its previous owner Please ignore white spots on photos caused by camera flash No reserve Returns accepted only if item not as described or grossly misrepresented.
