ANS, 2pp (recto and verso), 3½" X 5¼", London ("Wilton Cr[escent]"), n.y. ("Wednesday"). Addressed to "Mr. Barlow." Very good. Faint mounting traces on blank fourth leaf. Invitation: "Can you give me the pleasure of your company at breakfast on next Saturday at ten to meet Major [Richardson?]?" Boldly penned in Hallam's usual illegible scrawl. The black mourning borders on the first leaf suggest this was penned after the death of Hallam's son Arthur (1833), wife Julia (1847) or son Henry (1850).
