Hemipristis are a member of the weasel shark family and commonly referred to as hemi's or snaggle teeth. This species lived during from the Oligocene to the Pliestocene. They have an odd distribution in the fossil record being extremely common on the east coast of the USA and quite uncommon on the western coast. This shark tooth would be a perfect addition to a fossil collection. It would also make an awesome gift for a child or a killer pendant for a shark tooth necklace.
