Description: Helmut (Pete) Beckmann (1929-2010) was a well known American Impressionist painter of the outdoors. Originally from Koblenz, Germany he moved to the United States in 1956. He has been featured in major museum collections worldwide. His paintings have sold all over the world from North America to Europe, Japan and the Middle East. His canvases have received numerous awards and are featured in several thousand corporate and private collections in the United States, Canada, and Europe. This painting is one of his earlier works done in the early 40's.The breathtaking scenery in this painting is of an ancient ruins and a charming town on the island of Mallorca off the coast of Spain set against the backdrop of the Tramuntana Mountians. My father bought this painting from a private collection many years ago. He met with Pete Beckmann to have it authenticated and Mr. Beckmann confirmed that this painting was done by him.
