I love going outside after a January snowfall when it is in bloom to see pretty little dark blossoms contrasting with the white snow. Helleborus is evergreen in nature. They tend to thrive much better when they are not in direct afternoon sun, however they will grow in full sun, just not as pretty and their leaves get a little burnt. I'm a gardener during the warm months in Indiana, and I'm beginning to list all of my extra plants from the season and thinning out some of my own plants from my landscape as well as my houseplants.
