Description: This is a replacement for Hehr "First Generation" Window Link Levers. This window opening lever is used on the first generation of Hehr trailer windows that were produced and installed in some travel trailers in the late 1940's and very early 1950's. The lever is available in "left" and "right" versions. The difference between these versions is the direction the tab is bent on the lever. See the photos accompanying this auction for clarification. Please contact the seller after purchase to specify which version(s) you'd like. If you purchase multiple levers then you can specify the number of each type you'd like. These are newly manufactured stainless steel window actuator levers (aka link levers) are designed to replace lost, bent, corroded or otherwise damaged original stamped steel levers used with Hehr "first generation" Dual Pane windows. These are not reconditioned OEM or "new old stock" (NOS). These newly manufactured levers are fabricated from 304 stainless steel that is thicker than the original stamped steel design and is highly corrosion resistant. Hehr Manufacturing Co of Los Angeles, CA was incorporated in 1946. The Hehr "first generation" windows were manufactured and commonly installed in many travel trailers in the late 1940's through the very early-1950s. These windows are commonly seen in vintage trailers such as Airstream, Silver Streak, Boles Aero, Spartan and some "canned ham" trailers. Beginning in about 1952 Hehr released the "Standard" model trailer windows and this type of window quickly replaced the "first generation" window in newly manufactured trailers of that era. The original link levers were connected to the window pane using a a variety of methods such as a machine screw, clevis pin, and split cotter pin (not included). This same attachment method will work with these levers. The attachment hole has been sized to accept #6 machine screw, 1/8" split rivets or 1/8" clevis/hinge pins (3mm will also work). If you need more levers than are currently available then please contact me. I can make more. Before ordering: 1) please verify you have Hehr "first generation" windows that require this model link lever. The "first generation" Hehr window panes have radiused (rounded) pane frames so the glass must also be radiused. The later model Hehr "Standard" windows have rectangular pane frames but the exterior of the pane frame has radiused inside corners (but the glass is not radiused). Vintage Trailer Gaskets has a good "spotters guide" on their website to help identify the type of window you have (and can also provide replacement seals/gaskets if you need those). If you are still unsure please contact the seller. 2) This particular design was patterned after the dual pane window with a single center lever actuator for each pane (vs two side actuators for each pane). It MAY also fit the latter but I have no original samples to validate it. I've provided a technical drawing so that you can verify the measurements before ordering.
