Item dimensions are 48.25"X2''X1/4"Mounting posts are 3/4" Cold Rolled Steel, 6" in length.Support posts are both front and back welded for extreme load/shear strength. If you are familiar with working with light tools, this is an easy install. If not, we recommend you hire a handyman, or family/friend to install. For the cleanest install, route a full length notch in the back of your shelf or mantel to accommodate the bracket so it sits flush.For 3/4'' posts, you can use a 3/4'' drill bit, however we install these brackets regularly and find that a 49/64" dimension bracket will hold the lumber soundly yet allow you to remove the lumber from the bracket a bit easier, should you ever desire to do so.
