Description: Heavy carved relief stone or cement figure, guessing the Aztec Maize goddess or deity Chicomecoatl. Very heavy for its size, almost 7 lbs. Approximately 10.25" tall, 7.25" wide by 2.5" thick. Roughly made of a very dense, smooth, pale gray material. There are thin layers on the back, with a cross hatch pattern between the carving and a rougher brown outer surface, as if it had been glued to something bigger at one time. It is free standing but not stable like a bookend would be. Noted a few orange areas near the head and a faint reddish cast to the figure. From smoke-free storage.
