Description: Hear 1966 James Davis Blues / Soul EX DJ 45 - Bad Dream b/w Ain't It Great. James Davis - Bad Dream b/w Ain't It Great (Duke 392). Good Spring of 1966 release by Davis who signed on with Don Robey's Houston-based Duke Records in 1961. Two of Davis' Duke offerings, the tortured blues numbers "Blue Monday"" and "Your Turn to Cry,"" rank with finest blues 45s of the early '60s, but did little for Davis at the time. He left Duke in 1966, opening for Joe Tex and O.V. Wright on the road before settling down. This 45 was his last Duke release. "Ain't it Great" was the "A" side but "Bad Dream" is a solid dancer more appreciated by many European collectors. Take a listen to each. DJ copy. Vinyl is in M- condition but the station call letters and library number are written on this one so I'll call it EX.
