Haydn - Six "London" Symphonies - Szell, Cleveland - 3LP Box Set

Description: This 1973 3LP box set from Columbia (D3M 32321) features performances of Haydn's first group of famed "London symphonies", which were written during his first stay in London: Symphonies Nos. 93-98, including "Surprise" and "Miracle". They are performed by the Cleveland Orchestra, conducted by George Szell. The inside of the box contains the extensive album notes, written in English by Steven E. Paul. The top of the back of the box has a piece of clear tape across it (separate from the four standard pieces that hold the back cover). It also shows a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back (Photo 2). The inner sleeves have the numbers of the symphonies written on them in marker (Photos 5, 8, & 11). Finally, the third original sleeve is instead a basic sleeve (Photo 11). This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
