Description: 0 0 1 146 837 M.J. Cerri 6 1 982 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Since its formation in 1985, the Quatuor Ludwig has established itself as one of the leading quartets of its generation. Originally meeting at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, the musicians soon decided to devote themselves exclusively to performing as a string quartet. Distinguishing itself as prizewinner in the Florence International Chamber Music Competition and laureate of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation in Paris in 1986, the Quatuor Ludwig went on to win a special prize at the 1988 Portsmouth International String Quartet Competition for its interpretation of Henri Dutilleux’s quartet Ainsi la nuit. From 1991 to 1994 the ensemble was quartet-in-residence at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, the first post of its kind in France, and helped form and coach chamber music ensembles. The Quatuor Ludwig has toured extensively, performing in major venues throughout the world, from Paris to London and from New York to Taiwan.
