Description: (THE HASTY PAPERS + READINGS BY JACK KEROUAC ON THE BEAT GENERATION.) THE HASTY PAPERS. Millennium edition of the legendary 1960 one-shot review: the original plus a narrative made from selected authors' correspondence, new writing, photographs and drawings. Compiled by Alfred Leslie, with an Introduction by David Lehman. Austin, Texas: Host Publications, 1999. Stated First Edition. First printing. Folio. 11 x 14-1/4; 255 pages. Bound in paper over boards with lettering in silver on spine and front board. Offered along with The Hasty Papers is a CD recording: "Readings by Jack Kerouac on the Beat Generation." Accordian style assemblage of postcards of the most well known of the Beats, as well as photographs, accompany the CD. The CD was not sold with the book, but has been in my collection for several years. It has been listened to once, and makes an excellent companion piece to The Hasty Papers. Some over application of binder's adhesive to the gutter margins of the crimson endpapers (see last photo). The CD has been listened to once and is in As New condition. Its card case has a few stains to the back. The accordian style post cards accompanying the recording are in perfect condition and highlight several of the greats of the Beat Generation. Listen to Kerouac and overdose on Ginsberg, Genet, Corso and others in an historic compilation. Don't drive after reading or listening. A rich Beat feast, and nothing less.
