The scene shows a fishing boat moored at the wooden pontoon with the houses of the fishing town fading into the softened distance. The painting has a wonderful stillness, as if it is very early morning, moments before the fisherman gather to head out for the day's catch. The artist has signed to the lower left corner and the painting has been presented in a fine early 20th Century gilt frame with over sized egg and dart molding. On wood panel. Condition The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There are natural striations in the wood running horizontally with the grain. The frame has some minor age cracks and light tarnishing.
