With his round face, chubby body, and black and white markings, the baby panda looks like one of the cuddliest creatures on earth. Protective mama spends most of her day munching bamboo stems, which she pulls down with a hand-like giant paw that seems to have a thumb. Only about 1000 pandas remain in the wild, with 130 in zoos. Due to their slow growth and breeding rate, panda populations do not recover quickly from hunting and destruction of habitat. Within this limited edition box figurine three oysters, a supposed aphrodisiac, have been added to a stalk of bamboo in the hopes of introducing a little romance into the pandas’ lives.
