Description: Blessed Father Solanus CaseySingle Decade RosaryThis beautiful single decade rosary chaplet is dedicated to this wonder-working priest, Father Solanus Casey, who died in 1957 and was recently beatified.The 7/8" nickel silver medal and the 1-3/4" silver-toned Celtic crucifix were made in Italy. This pocket rosary was designed and handmade by me in the USA. All eleven beads are 8 mm in size. The single Our Father bead is a genuine Tree Agate. As a young man he worked at various jobs; as a prison guard, hospital orderly, a lumberjack and a street car operator. Eventually he felt called to the priesthood. While praying before a statue of the Blessed Virgin he distinctly heard her voice say "go to Detroit". He joined the Friars Minor Capuchins there and became a priest in 1904. After serving in New York (Yonkers, NYC and Harlem) he eventually went to St Bonaventure Convent in Detroit. Serving as the doorman and receptionist, he also held healing services for the sick which were well-attended as word spread of the cures and other blessings which were occurring. He loved to visit the Holy Eucharist in the middle of the night. In 1946 his health began to decline and after suffering many years from erysipelas with infections he died in 1956. Many miraculous cures have been attributed to his intercession. He was beatified in 2017 after the Vatican confirmed a miraculous healing of a genetic skin condition. The prayer cards which come with our rosaries and chaplets are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed on nice quality paper.
