Description: Cholla is a cactus that grows widely in the American southwest. When the plant dies, and the outer skin decays, it reveals a natural wooden mesh with a hollow interior. I have sanded and stabilized the wood making this an ideal material for knife handles. The cholla was collected by a friend in Magdalena, NM, the obsidian for the blades, a friend collected from northern California.
