Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Notable Features: About the Book:Miss Fries, herself a Moravian and a descendant of the founders of the Moravian communities in North Carolina, was Archivist of the Southern Province of the Moravian Church. She was the author of several books on the Moravians and the translator and editor of others, among them the important Records of the Moravians in North Carolina. FOREWORDThe North Carolina Federation of Women's Clubs is indebted to Mrs. Aubrey Mauney, President 1956-1958, and to members of the Executive Committee serving with her, for compiling and having published a Manual of rules and information regarding the work of the NCFWC. A special committee composed of Mrs. George Mar- shall, Chairman; Mrs. E. A. Latta and Mrs. H. D. Lassiter, assisted in the preparation of that first Handbook.Because the supply of first editions is exhausted, and since changes in procedure naturally have occurred within the past several years, the present Executive Committee considered it advisable to prepare a second edition. The high cost of printing has led to the condensation of material wherever feasible. Information not carried in this book should be available in the current State Year Book, in issues of The North Carolina Clubwoman or in the Junior Manual. Effort has been made to avoid extensive duplication of material carried in Year Book and Junior Manual. This Handbook is made available in the hope and expectation that clubwomen will use it to increase their interest in and know- ledge of the program of the Federation of Women's Clubs. It has a place on the desk of every leader in every club in the state. We are indebted to Mrs. Charles Forney, Jr., First Vice-President; Mrs. James Badgett, Second Vice-President; and Mrs. Britt Petty, Assistant Junior Director, for the material which they pre- pared for this book, and to the other members of the present Exeси- tive Committee for their counsel and suggestions.Mabel Claire Maddrey (Mrs. Gordon Maddrey)About the Author/Editor: Condition:There is foxing on the outside and inside of the cover and along the edge.
